The Finnish Transport Workers’ Union AKT is Finland’s largest trade union for professionals in the transport sector.

AKT members work in the following sectors:

Joining the union

You may join AKT by completing the online membership application form.

The membership subscription fee for AKT in 2025 is 1.6 per cent of gross wages. This membership subscription fee includes membership of the unemployment fund. The membership fee is tax-deductible.

Student membership

Students enrolled in courses leading to qualifications in transport and logistics and in tourism may join AKT as student members.

Student membership is free of charge. Student members are eligible for union interest representation and membership benefits.
