Finnish Musicians’ Union
The Finnish Musicians’ Union is a trade union for music performers.


Members
Just under one third of Finnish Musicians’ Union members are orchestral musicians, with the remainder working as freelance or self-employed musicians in various sectors of music.
The members of the Finnish Musicians’ Union include:
- freelance musicians
- artists
- orchestral musicians
- theatre musicians
- studio musician
- music producers and technologists
- DJs
- conductors
- dancers of the Finnish National Ballet
- soloists and choir members of the Finnish National Opera
Joining the union
You can join the Finnish Musicians’ Union by completing the online application form.
The membership subscription fee for the Finnish Musicians’ Union in 2025 is EUR 31 per month. The membership fee is tax-deductible.
Student membership
Full-time music students may join the Finnish Musicians’ Union as student members. The fee for student membership is EUR 12,50 per month.
Vilma Jää (29)
Vilma Jää creates music that promotes folklore, making people aware of their roots.
- Vilma is a musician-composer who has been self-employed since 2023 at Jäähile Oy, a limited company operating in the field of performance, composing music and lyrics, arranging and producing, and the sale and marketing of associated products.
- She is a member of the Finnish Musicians’ Union.
