Labour market confederations formulated a joint position on the future of the European Union
The Finnish labour market confederations have formulated a joint position on the future of the European Union. A position paper signed by all of the Finnish labour market confederations was delivered on 5 February 2003 to the Finnish government, to the Parliament of Finland and its Grand Committee, and to the Finnish members of the European Convention.
The joint position of the Finnish labour market confederations on the future of the European Union is a rather unique document by international standards. Previously the confederations in Finland have expressed a common position on Finnish accession to the European Union, on the impact of Economic and Monetary Union and on enlargement of the European Union.
In their joint position paper the labour market confederations stress the importance of social dialogue and insist that the special status of labour market organisations must be respected at European Union level.
